The restoration of His Majesty's Theatre facade has been highly commended in the 2012 Western Australian Heritage Awards.
Announcing the winners, Heritage Minister John Castrilli said that these awards highlight how State-registered heritage properties can be transformed into contemporary work and living spaces while still respecting their historic elements.
His Majesty's Theatre was commended in the Outstanding Conservation of a Non-Residential Place category. The judges noted that Extensive investigation into the original building fabric of the façade prior to the commencement of works delivered a very high standard conservation outcome.

Read more...18 Jan 2012 - Tender for Perth Theatre Trust venue ticketing
Culture and the Arts Minister John Day announced today that the State Government would put out to tender the ticketing rights for venues managed by Perth Theatre Trust (PTT).
Mr Day said the public tender would be advertised in April 2012 after stakeholder consultation and follow Department of Finance procurement procedures. If successful, this will mean BOCS Ticketing agency will be decommissioned by the Government.
