Mike Compton has a worldwide reputation as one of the modern masters of bluegrass mandolin. As a Soggy Bottom Boy on 2001's Grammy Album Of the Year, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Compton has one of the most recognizable and respected bluegrass voices.
Befriended and mentored by Bill Monroe the acknowledged Father of Bluegrass Music, Mike Compton is one of today's foremost interpreters of Monroe's genre-creating mandolin style. Compton's master of mandolin is at once effortless and exceptional. A compelling entertainer, his skills as a singer, arranger, instrumentalist and composer will have you off your seats and feet stomping. He is a multi Grammy and IBMA award-winning recording artist with Grammy-winning soundtrack Down From The Mountain, The Cold Mountain soundtrack and, most recently Stomp, nominated for the IBMA's Recorded Event Of The Year in 2006.
