Presented by the RSL Albany Sub Branch in association with Albany Entertainment Centre
The traditional Dawn Service on Mt Clarence, held at the location of the first dawn service in Western Australia in 1923, led by Padre White.
He led the congregation to the top of Mt Clarence and as the service was held, a wreath was laid in King George Sound to commemorate those who fought. Albany Entertainment Centre will begin live simulcast of The Dawn Service on Sunday 25 April at 5.00am followed by the Gunfire Breakfast.
This is a FREE event but you will require a ticket to attend. You can collect your tickets from Albany Entertainment Centre in person or call the Box Office on 9844 5005 to register.
One of the traditions of Anzac Day is the ‘gunfire breakfast’ (coffee with rum added) which occurs shortly after many dawn ceremonies and recalls the ‘breakfast’ taken by many soldiers before facing battle. The traditional gunfire breakfast will be held at the Albany Entertainment Centre with a $5 donation to the RSL following the Dawn Service. You do not require a ticket for this event.
