The City of Albany and WA Primary Health Alliance are proud to launch the Albany Compassionate Albany Charter.

The Charter was developed by the people of Albany in a series of community workshops, it represents the community’s aspirations for making Albany a more compassionate place to live.

"I belong to a community where everyone recognises we all have a part to play in supporting each other through life’s toughest experiences, especially during times of hardship, illness, loneliness, death and grief."

"We are all touched by these challenges at some point in our lives."

"Let’s have conversations about living well and dying well and supporting each other emotionally and practically along the way."

Keynote Speaker - Dr John Rosenberg, President of Public Health Palliative Care International, a global association promoting public health approaches to dying, death, and grief. John is a Registered Nurse with a clinical background in community palliative care. He is now a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Equally as important, John is also a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend, carer and colleague, and deeply values the connections he has with others.

Heather and Tony’s Story - End of Life at Home is a 12-minute film that tells the story of a local couple, and the people who came together to support them through the final months of Tony’s terminal illness.

Refreshments will be served afterwards. Tickets are limited to 100. This is a FREE event but all patrons must hold a ticket. Please register and collect your ticket at Albany Entertainment Centre Box Office between 10am – 2.30pm Monday – Friday.
