Get ready to rock at Great Southern Grammar’s annual gala showcase!
Equal parts enchanting and chart-topping, the concert celebrates the musical talents of GSG students from Years One to Twelve, in a spectacular showcase of youthful energy, vivacity and enterprise.
Experience the bewitching Tiny Trebles, the pomp and ceremony of the Pipe Band, and magnificent strings performances. Queen aficionados will be transported by a medley of songs, while an arrangement of the Bach organ piece, Toccata, will intoxicate. Songs from The Pink Panther and The Beatles complement the eclectic offering, which builds as Zero Gravity by Kate Miller Heidke (as performed at Eurovision 2019) is delivered, alongside a jazz version of Stairway to Heaven.
GSG Principal Mr Mark Sawle said, “Every year, our students astound me with their skill and finesse in the delivery of the Kingfisher Concert. They learn and extensively rehearse musical items over many months in order to perform for the enjoyment of the Great Southern community and this year, they have pulled out all the stops. We are proud of their accomplishment and proficiency, as well as their readiness to display their craft for the enjoyment of others. I extend my thanks to all of the GSG music teachers for instilling the love of music in our students, and for orchestrating the orchestra!”
