His Majesty's Theatre

Your Visit

His Majesty’s Theatre is undergoing significant work to protect its status as one of Western Australia’s great public buildings.

The work is designed to ensure that customers are more comfortable, foyers are less crowded and that our staff have a safe working environment.

Work may include the placement of scaffolding on both Hay St and King St. Some laneway closures are expected as changes are made to the hospitality areas which abut His Majesty’s Laneway.

Food and beverage services will be affected from 1 August. Temporary bars will be in place but, as the kitchens will be closed, there will be no hot food available at the venue. There are a number of alternative dinner options surrounding our venue and we encourage you to check out our list of suggestions below or use the map to find out some great options.

Click here for dining options near the venue.

While this is a significant project, it will be business as usual inside the theatre with a full schedule of performances.

His Majesty’s Theatre has been at the centre of our cultural life for more than a century – we want to ensure that 100 years from now Western Australians are still enjoying the unique experience it offers.

If you have any questions or concerns about the works being carried out, please contact us at themajrestoration@ptt.wa.gov.au
