Hear from artist Carla Adams and AGWA Curator Robert Cook to discuss her latest exhibition Carla Adams and Albert Tucker sorry I was/am too much. Carla’s work is aligned with feminist sculptural and textile practices and investigates how women navigate online dating platforms. Learn how Carla uses portraiture, text and kitsch elements to develop humorous responses to encounters with dating site users. sorry I was/am too much pairs works by Western Australian contemporary artist Carla Adams and one of Australia’s foremost modernist artists, Albert Tucker. The show includes Adams’ paintings, textiles, ceramics and mixed-media objects, drawings and visual diaries that emerge from her experiences in the contemporary dating world. This is juxtaposed against a selection of Tucker’s drawings and paintings from the Gallery’s Collection, produced between 1943 and 1989.
