When William Ernest Bold was appointed Town Clerk of the City of Perth in September 1901, he was the youngest in any Australian Capital. When he resigned in 1944, he was the longest serving. How did this young Englishman contribute to the ‘City Beautiful’ movement that helped mould pre-war Perth? Join us for an exploration of the life and times of this intriguing character. Presented by the State Library’s Senior Subject Specialist John Hughes.
