Ready to make a move? Assemble your family and friends and cross the board to the Courtyard for a summer series of chess tournaments this FRINGE WORLD!

Designed to be enjoyed over snacks, a cup of coffee (or cheeky bevvy!), this extraordinary new partnership presents an incredible series of chess experiences for the Perth community.

Each event is different with something available for every master and rookie, so come check it out, mate!

Tickets are required to participate in the tournaments. Spectators are welcome to all events without tickets. We recommend spectators arrive early as there is a limited venue capacity. Contact registering via the SafeWA app is mandatory (alternative registration methods will be provided).

Fri 15 Jan: Junior Blitz - A competitive chess tournament for those under 18!
Sat 16 Jan: Grand Blitz - An open competitive chess tournament for all ages.
Fri 22 Jan: Banter Blitz - A New York-style chess event; trash talk your opponent and knock them off their high horse!
Sat 23 Jan: Grand Master Exhibition - Watch a master at work, as Perth-based Grand Master and Australian Chess Champion Temur Kuybokarov plays 20 members of the CAWA simultaneously!

• Grand Master Exhibition - FREE entry for spectators
• Banter Blitz - FREE entry with a gold coin entry to play
• Junior Blitz - $10.00 or FREE for spectators
  Please note that this ticket is only for people under 18 years old who are competing in the tournament. The State Theatre Centre of WA will be in touch closer to the date to confirm the name and date of birth of the competitor. 
• Grand Blitz - $20.00 or FREE for spectators
  Please note that this ticket is only for adults competing in the tournament. 

Please note that physical tickets are not required for spectators of these events, however space is limited due to social distancing requirements and attendees will be required to register via the SafeWA app on arrival for contact tracing purposes.

Babes in arms permitted for infants up to 2 years old.

Pricing and Transaction Fee Information
Transaction fees for ticket purchases differ depending on the sales channel you choose.
Web: $3.95 if cart values is $36 or less, $5.95 if cart value is more than $36.
Phone: $6.95.
In person: $0.
Group bookings: $8.95.
Add $2 for postage by Standard Mail or $4.40 for Registered Mail.
All tickets/items prices include GST if applicable and are quoted in Australian dollars.
Ticket prices can be dynamically adjusted, either up or down, based on real-time market demand, and without notice.
